Quarter-mile time Group problem solving activity

A McLaren F1 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 mph in 6.3 seconds (but costs $890,000 and has one seat, ouch!). Assume the acceleration is constant. Convert this acceleration to SI units. Starting from rest, and assuming that it continues to accelerate beyond 100 mph with this same acceleration, how long will it take to travel a quarter of a mile (convert this to SI units first)? What speed will it be going? Convert your answer for the speed back to miles per hour.

Data: 1 mile = 1609 m.
